A visa run can be slightly confusing, very long, and at times exhausting — but it’s a small price to pay to enjoy another 3 months in Vietnam. ✨ Visa Run Tips You Shouldn’t Miss

✔ Ensure at least 6 months validity – Non-negotiable at the border.

HOW THE DAY PANNED OUT:
Bus picked us up at 6.20am - Hoi An
Arrived at Lynn visa around 7.10am
Left Danang on fancy bus at 7.30am
9.00am 1st stop
10.30am 2nd stop
Arrived at Lao Bao at around 12:15pm
Lunch at 12.30pm
Walked over and handed passport at gate at 1pm
Walked to Vietnam border building
At around 1.30 we got our passports handed back as we had been stamped out of Vietnam
Walked over to Laos border thru gates and showed passports to acknowledge that we had been stamped out of Vietnam - and walked through no mans land
Once at Laos - we handed back our passport and we had a passport photo already otherwise you put 50 000 dong in with your passport and get a photo for the Laos border entry visa.
Waited about 45 mins and got stamped out of Laos and got our passports back.
Walked back to Vietnam gate showed our passport and acknowledged that we had been stamped in and out of Laos and had the visa.
Back at Vietnam and handed passport back to Lynn Visa so they could stamp our new entry visa for another 90 days.
We waited for about an hour for our Vietnam visa. All done by 4pm left to drive back by 4.30pm
Check that you have the stamp before getting back on bus to go home.
