ESG-MAX™ is a combined endoscopic approach that integrates two minimally invasive techniques:
• Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) — reduces overall stomach volume using internal sutures
• Gastric Fundus Mucosal Ablation (GFMA) — applies controlled thermal energy to the stomach’s fundus, an area involved in hunger hormone (ghrelin) production
The goal of combining these techniques is to address both mechanical restriction and hormonal appetite regulation, and ongoing research is evaluating this dual approach as a next step in endoscopic weight-loss therapy.
