I recorded this video of the Timkat Festival in Gondar (Ethiopia) on the 19th and the 20th of January 2008. According to the Ethiopian calendar this was in (Ethiopian) 2000. The ceremony of the Timkat Festival continues through all of the night. The festival becomes extremely crowded after some time, as you can see in this film. A very interesting festival. In March 2010 I edited this film in it's record format HD 1080i. I have a HD-version available without subtitles. So if you are interested contact me via YouTube.
NB. A part of this film has been included in the tv program FAST TRACK of BBC WORLD NEWS of the 8th and the 9th of December 2012.
