very definitely didn't expect to train spot this nearly all the way from Bendigo to Melbourne. some of the spots i didn't expect to visit but luckily had the guide of an expert assistance who introduced me to these spots. some the spots are spectacular but we didn't have enough time to go everywhere that was recommended due to the fading sunlight. all it all, still a good day out.
today's train is lead by steam locomotive R711 "Spirit of Bendigo" and assisted by diesel locomotives T364 & S301.
