Sewing bowl cozies with my serger

In this tutorial, I show you how I made super easy bowl cozies with my serger. I used a quilted table runner from Walmart to make the cozies with white cotton thread in the needles and navy stretch nylon thread in the loopers. I used a stitch length of 1.5 and width of 5 to achieve this look.

FIRE HAZARD COMMENTS: Note that I made a test cozy and used it almost daily for 3 weeks heating up leftovers in the microwave before I made these 4. The label on the table runner said 100% cotton, but I tested myself anyway. If you plan to use these in the microwave, please make sure that the label on the material you use says 100% cotton. Using polyester can be a fire hazard. Whatever you do, do not microwave longer than 3 minutes regardless of what materials you use. The safest way to use bowl cozies is to microwave in the bowl only and to use the bowl cozy to slide the bowl onto when you take it out of the microwave.
