न्यूज पोटली के इस वीडियो में देखिए उत्तर प्रदेश के मेरठ जिले के जयसिंहपुर गांव में रहने वाले आधुनिक किसान कुलानंद राना से। वे 19 एकड़ में ट्रेंच विधि से खेती करते हैं। उनकी औसत पैदावार 400 से 600 कुंटल प्रति एकड़ है। कुलानंद के पास गन्ने की खेती से जुड़े कई कृषि उपकरण हैं, जो उनकी खेती को आसान बनाते हैं। कुलानंद हाईटेक किसान हैं। वो अगर अपने खेतों में कीट और रोग नियंत्रण के लिए एकीकृत जीवनाशी प्रबंधन के टूल्स का इस्तेमाल करते हैं । मिट्टी और खेत की ताकत बढ़ाने के लिए परंपरागत खाद भी उपयोग करते हैं। उनके पास 7-8 गाय हैं, जिनके गौमूत्र से जीवामृत बनाते हैं। गन्ना लंबी अवधि की फसल है, इसलिए वो गन्ने के साथ सहफसली के रुप में सब्जियों की खेती करते हैं। जिससे उन्हें अतिरिक्त आमदनी होती है। इस साल उन्होंने गन्ने में आलू बोए थे, जिसकी अच्छी पैदावार भी हुई है।

He practices trench farming on 19 acres of land, with an average yield of 400 to 600 quintals per acre. Kulānand has several agricultural tools related to sugarcane cultivation, making his farming easier. He is a high-tech farmer who utilizes integrated pest management tools for pest and disease control in his fields. He also uses organic manure to improve soil fertility. He has 7-8 cows from which he makes cow dung-based liquid fertilizer. Since sugarcane is a long-duration crop, he also practices vegetable cultivation as an intercrop with sugarcane, which provides him with additional income. This year, he planted potatoes with sugarcane, and it has yielded good results.
