I’m Ryan Colfax — a former ranger at Yosemite National Park. For years, I believed the disappearances were just tragic accidents. Hikers getting lost. Weather. Wildlife. But then I found something I was never meant to see:

a restricted National Park disappearance database — thousands of cases the public never hears about.

Some vanish in daylight. Some return changed. Some text their families years later. And the cases marked “Profile Match” follow patterns no search-and-rescue report can explain.

This is the story that ended my career — twisted trees, silent forests, stone circles, voices calling for help when no one is there. And the night I learned why rangers are warned not to ask questions.
