In this episode, we travel in our converted Ford transit campervan, to Yarrawonga, Victoria, Australia. We camped two nights at a free campground in Mulwala called Kyffins Reserve. The location was minutes from Yarrawonga. In this episode, we offer camping cooking tips, take you around our free camping area, and show you local things to up to over a weekend. Being close to Yarrawonga, it was easy to duck in-and-out of town.

Yarrawonga is a town in the Shire of Moira local government area in the Australian state of Victoria. The town is situated on the south bank of the Murray River, the border between Victoria and New South Wales, and is located approximately 265 kilometers north-east of the state capital, Melbourne.

Kyffins Reserve offers over one kilometer of shoreline and bush camping and walking tracks, on the banks of Lake Mulwala.
Kyffins Reserve is a popular spot for fishing. There are no facilities available, but camping is free. You have to be self-contained to camp here. As this is a free site we encourage you to help keep it clean.

Kyffins Reserve is located 12km north of the Yarrawonga Mulwala Visitor Information Centre, where access is via Corowa Road, through Mulwala. There’s a 3 km walking track beginning from Owen Bridge Reserve, hugging Lake Mulwala.
Nearby to the camping area is Ski Club Holiday Park,BIG4 Yarrawonga-Mulwala Lakeside Holiday Park, and Yarrawonga Holiday Resort.

While in Yarrawonga, we visited the Yarrawonga Weir. Yarrawonga Weir is located on the Murray River, approximately 230 km downstream of Lake Hume and 1,992 km from the Murray mouth. It is the largest of the 16 weirs on the Yarra River. Construction of the weir and its offtakes began early in 1935 and was completed in 1939. The water impounded by the Yarrawonga Weir forms Lake Mulwala.

We also visited Club Mulwala while we were in town. Club Mulwala is one of the region's premier clubs, featuring dining venues, lounges and bars, live music Friday and Saturday nights and an on-site 4 star resort. The Club also houses an exceptional War Memorabilia room which is free to enter. Club Mulwala also offers Bingo, Trivia, in-house activities, Members Draws, raffles and promotions as well as TAB, Keno, and Foxtel.
