A normal day in Oymyakon is a battle against the coldest land on Earth. At -71°C, the sun rises but warmth never comes. Mikhail Petrovich Ivanov’s only mission: keep his Yakut cattle and horses alive. Their body heat is the last fragile defense against the night.
But the cold is a ruthless enemy. The tractor’s oil freezes like tar. The haystack turns into a solid rock buried under snow and ice — every bale must be broken loose with a crowbar. Water barrels become glaciers half a meter thick, demanding hours of smashing just to take a few buckets back.
