Hey I'm Nicole Bonk Head of Flight Testing at Skydio and this is Skydio Flight School today we're going to cover three ways to launch and land your Skydio 2.

As we covered in the first flight video you can launch Skydio 2 from a large flat area or if there is high grass or rough terrain use the case as a takeoff and landing pad.

Again simply tap begin flight, wait for the vehicle to calibrate and then tap and hold to take off. This also applies to using the controller or beacon which we'll cover in a later video now that you've got ground and case launching hand launching is by far the easiest way to precisely launch and land skydio2

First, make sure you have a clear space above and in front of you then hold the drone away from you while lightly gripping just the battery with your fingers below the chassis make sure the wind is at your back and your hand is steady

Finally, press and hold the launch button and slowly relax your grip as skydio2 takes off.

Once you're back from your aerial adventure landing is easy again to land on the ground cancel any subject tracking find a flat clear place and press and hold the land button.

To case land, position the drone about 10 feet above the case use the gimbal control to pan the camera down so the case and Skydio logo are clearly in view then press and hold land to initiate a landing if the case locks on this yellow ring will circle the Skydio logo if you do not see the ring cancel the landing and try again

Do not attempt case landings on rocking or moving vehicles such as boats or cars.

Hand catching is a great way to land your Skydio 2 when ground landing and case landing are not an option position your Skydio 2 above a clear area so that you can move underneath it make sure that Skydio 2 is facing away from you then initiate a landing by pressing and holding the lamb button once Skydio 2 has made contact with your palm grasp the battery and hold your hands steady until the propellers have stopped spinning make sure not to hand catch on high wind don't catch Skydio 2 without initiating a landing first and don't hand catch during an emergency landing that's a no-no.
