Invertebrates - Sick to Survive LP (2024)

A little late but it was hard af making this on the work computer lol

I won't lie.. I have not been listening to jack shit for weeks now hahaha BUT I do have my favorites that I keep tabs on, and of course this new Invertebrates record is on top of the damn list. Out today on Beach Impediment Records, very appropriate I'd say, this band really captures the early 2000's Richmond punk and No Way Records style hc to the T. If you're gonna start a hc punk band today that uses mostly d-beat in the verse, take notes y'all.. this is how it's done! Tastefully used and has variety

In terms of execution this is the closest I think I've heard to a Gas Rag esque path, I don't think they had that in mind particularly but what a treat still. I've noticed on a lot of promo tape to LP releases the tape usually smokes the rest of the tracks that come later or just sound a little different but not here! A year or so apart probably and still every song is equally well written, follows the same formula and flows well. Even so, Lost Illusion is my favorite track, but overall pretty confident this is record of the year for me

Grab this thing, I don't doubt it'll sell out! Thanks.. and listen to the whole dang thing, record release is Saturday in RICHMOND get out there, wish I could
