Time to change our transmission oil as well as the PTU oil. This is an often neglected part of vehicles that can be a costly repair if not done properly.
Part of my series of trying to find the vibration in my vehicle, I've taken footage from that to create a video on how to go about changing the PTU [power transfer unit] fluid and transmission fluid.
Fluids used-
Motorcraft Mercon LV [transmission]
Valvoline 75w/140 full synthetic gear oil [PTU]
If you're having issues with the transmission shuddering, this could possibly be the video fix for you! follow this guide to change your fluid several times in the transmission in attempt to "flush" the transmission without a fluid exchange machine. Easy to do and no special tools that most average garage and weekend warriors would have.
