ABOUT NANNA (SUEN)
Nanna (also called Suen), is the Sumerian god of the Moon. A literal translation of the cuneiform signs that make up his name read “Earth’s Brother”. His name Suen translates as “Lord of Knowledge”. Nanna was a paternal deity, and wholly benevolent, and called the Celestial Shepherd, with the stars being referred to as the Cows of Suen. The Sumerian’s credited him with all things beneficial and joyous.
