Episode 3 shifts the focus to Soumil — and his very strong opinions.
It starts with food being judged.
Corn fry, pizza, biryani, cocktails… even an omelette doesn’t survive.
Then the morning finally shows up.
After days of sore throats and late wake-ups, we chase a Pondicherry sunrise, navigating quiet lanes and reaching the beach just in time. The timeline drifts to Mandarmani, where all five of us walk into frame, sit down with a cup of tea, and let the day begin slowly.
There are waves at Shankarpur, quad bikes that refuse to cooperate, failed attempts, dancing on the sand, and moments where the ocean feels like an escape from concrete lives. A hidden beach turns out to be not so hidden, but we stay anyway — cotton candy in hand, reliving small pieces of childhood.
Markets blur timelines again. A temple appears out of nowhere in Mandarmani and reminds us of another one in Pondicherry. We follow the feeling, step inside, listen to the music, admire the art, take prasad, and leave lighter than we arrived.
Food returns — this time with a French café that empties our pockets and street food that fills the soul. Opinions are shared. Hunger is real. Verdicts are final.
The episode ends the way trips usually do — tired, full, and floating somewhere between chaos and calm.
This is Episode 3 of our five-part series.
Two trips. Two timelines.
One loud opinion — and everything in between.
