YANA CAVE
Yana is a small village in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, known for its unique rock formations and spiritual significance. The caves are famous for two massive rock outcrops: Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and Mohini Shikhara, composed of solid black, crystalline Karst limestone. At the base of Bhairaveshwara Shikhara, there's a Shiva temple believed to be self-emerged, where water drips naturally onto the Shiva Linga. A popular legend associated with Yana involves Bhasmasura, an evil demon, and his encounter with Lord Shiva and Vishnu (in the form of Mohini). The best time to visit is during the winter months (morning) as summers are harsh and the rainy season can be rough with leeches. Yana is accessible by road, with the nearest airport being Hubli and the nearest railway station being Kumta.

Vibhuti Falls
The falls are believed to be linked to the legend of Yana Rocks. The water is considered pure and mineral-rich due to the limestone rocks. Vibhuti Falls is about 44 km from Sirsi and 42 km from Gokarna. The drive from Gokarna to Yana caves can be deserted, so start early to avoid darkness. The trek can be challenging, so be prepared for a good walk and some climbing.
