Bench Testing Honda CR-V 2007-2011 Blend Door actuator 79160-SNE-A01 Air Mix Motor

Here I bench test the Honda CR-V 2011 blend door actuator using a 5v power supply from max cold to max hot. Please read the comments for any updates. I am using Dupont breadboard connectors available for really cheap on amazon. It is best to position the peg in the middle of the metal bracket before installing to the blend door.

On the HVAC system, there are 3 actuators.
One for air mix (hot or cold), one for mode (which vent to come out), one for recirculation/fresh air.
In the USA market, the driver's side is the air mix actuator. It has a 7 pin connector. Pins 1 and 2 are the controls.
Power and ground to pins one and 2 will move actuator to max hot or max cool depending upon polarity.
Once it reaches the max power must be disconnected or it will break the unit. Self destruct.
Resistance between pin 5 and 7 should be 4.2 to 7.8k ohms.
When unit is plugged in and ignition key is on then voltage reading between pin 3 and 7 should be
when in max cool about 0.5 volts
When in max hot about 4.5 volts

On the air mix unit,
Pin 1 ..... is pink M hot
Pin 2 ..... is light blue M cool
Pin 3 ..... is grey don't know?
Pin 4 ..... is not used according to schematics
Pin 5 ..... is black 5 volts
Pin 6 ..... is not used according to schematics
Pin 7 ..... is also pink ground

On mode control unit
Pin 1 ..... is orange vent
Pin 2 ..... is green defrost
Pin 3 ..... is blue mode 4
Pin 4 ..... is purple mode 3
Pin 5 ..... is light green mode 2
Pin 6 ..... is also orange mode 1
Pin 7 ..... is also pink ground

On recirculate control unit
Pin 1 ..... brown MICU/IG2
Pin 5 ..... red fresh
Pin 7 ..... orange recirculate

No service data on plastic piece
Would look at the center and see if there is a tab that needs to be released
