Black Screen of Death

Black screen is a symptom for many types of problems, your goal is to narrow down the path to the actual problem that's causing the issue.

Steps:

1-visually inspect for any physical damage or previous work
2-check if all power rails are present.
3-test the communication on the bios pins.
4-check the oscillator frequency.

Some devices may have missing power rails because of a corrupt bios, as long as there are no shorts on the board, reprogramming the bios chip may give positive results.

Safely remove the bios chip as displayed in the video, some PCBs will require that you apply low melt paste 138c or 183c prior to using the hot air for extraction in order to make the process easier.

If you have a good iron it is possible to extract the chip without using the hot air gun if you are not familiar with using it.
