ONBOARD First Great Western(FGW) Class 43 HST - London Waterloo to Basingstoke (Diversionary route)

As there is now a bit of a break in me filming new journeys, here's an old one from 2010!

This journey was filmed onboard a Class 43 HST non-stop between London Waterloo and Basingstoke! Additionally it's not via the direct route either, as we take a longer route via Richmond and Staines! NOTE: Though the real journey would have taken about 1 hour 25 minutes, due to the battery in my old camcorder not usually lasting that long, I had to omit filming a few sections of the journey. Hence this video is just under an hour in duration. The caption commentary will inform which sections are omitted.

This was filmed on Tuesday 28th December 2010. During that week, there was a blockade of Reading station due to redevelopment of the station and it's approaches. First Great Western Services between the West of England and London Paddington were running a diversionary route via Basingstoke and onto London Waterloo! Whilst services from/to Bristol Temple Meads and South Wales were routed via Didcot Parkway, Oxford, Banbury and terminating/starting at London Paddington.

NOTE: This journey was originally uploaded to my old channel TheTrainFanatic some 13 years ago now! However, back then the journey was split across 4 separate videos(as back then, YouTube videos were restricted to about 15 minutes each!). These videos didn't feature any captions of the stations passed, and didn't tell you which sections of the journey were cut/not filmed. So unless you knew that region pretty well, it would have been a bit difficult to see where the train was during the journey!

This newly edited version of the journey has a few advantages over the original 4 videos of the journey.

The whole film is in one video, rather than 4 separate videos!
