If you are looking for bold frames, James Oro is the answer. Different face shapes require different frames, but James Oro frames provide that bold look anyone can wear. They also tend to work for both women and men. They have earned their place on the music stage, worn by Cardi B, Young Thug, Ronny Rich, Korean jewelry king Ben Baller, Billy Eilish, Gunna, Halsey, Takeoff, and Future. All frames are made from premium Italian acetate made by Mazzucchelli, with gold-plated stainless steel core wire and eye wire. They come with a one-year warranty. These joints are SIKKK yo! So if you are looking to level up your sunglasses game and your street cred without breaking the bank, James Oro is the answer.
The unboxing experience is impressive. The box itself is like a drawer, and when you slide it open, it reveals the box-shaped leather cases with the James Oro logo with a velvety lining. They come in a black velvet pouch to protect the glasses, and a black microfiber cleaning cloth with the James Oro logo on them. The glasses themselves come in a plastic pouch with plastic sleeves protecting the temples. In the corner of each of the lenses you can see the James Oro logo. Each pair of sunglasses from James Oro also comes with a one-year factory warranty, which shows the confidence they have in their product.
So this is the Nighthawk, which is a slightly oversized, mixed premium Italian acetate and metal frame that redefines the aviator frame that you are used to. They feature a double bridge construction and detailed with titanium gold-plated nose pads, metal rectangular spacers, and signature beveled temple tip cutouts that are like nothing I have seen before. The Nighthawk is a perfect blend of boldness and sophistication that will certainly get you noticed from across the room. They feature a generous and wide 56.5mm eye size for that classic oversized look, a 20.5mm nose bridge, and long 150mm temple arms.
The Nighthawk comes in a number of amazing color ways. One comes in a blue tint with a light grey frame, that is like a smokey grey crystal acetate. They also offer a limited edition Reaper Nighthawk, with a crimson tint on a matte black frame with a hint of crimson flash mirror on the lens that makes for a very unique look.
The frames I have normally come with a black tint on a glossy black premium Italian acetate. I worked with Hicks Brunson eyewear to replace these lenses with a set of prescription lenses in Trivex, with Zeiss Smartlife AI single vision lenses, with a Hennessy Brown Single Gradient tint going from 70% at the top to clear at the bottom. The Hennessy Brown tint is like a deep blood red combined with copper. I saw a tint that I really liked on the internet, and I sent the image to the amazing team at Hicks Brunson eyewear, and they worked with their lab to replicate the color, and the result was a truly unique pair of prescription sunglasses— I certainly won’t have to worry about walking down the street and seeing someone with an identical pair of sunglasses. To this I added a Zeiss DuraVision Gold AR coating on the backside of the lenses, with results in a light Gold flash mirror look on the frontside of the lens that really finishes this one-of-a-kind look.
They feature a gold brow bar and a composite construction featuring gold eye wire wrapped around glossy black acetate, as well as gold-plated titanium nose pads. The temple arms are adorned with gold temple lugs, and a set of 3 gold decorate crosses on the outside of the extra thick flared temple arms. They also feature a clear acetate laminate window on the inlay of the temple arms exposing a beautiful brushed gold core wire that is like nothing I have ever seen. These frames are built with a constructionist mindset, where the temple lugs are screwed on to the temple arms, and the brow bar and other components are attached by decorative gold screws rather than glued together like their cheap counterparts. This is a more expensive and time-consuming process, but James Oro takes no shortcuts to bring you a quality pair of sunglasses.
In spite of their size, they are surprisingly light on the face, and fit just about every face size and shape.
