ITALY: MILAN: WINTER FASHION COLLECTIONS

Italian designer, Truscardi displayed his Winter collection in Milan, Wednesday, emphasising the return of plastic.

The 'Afro' hairstyle of the 1970s also made a comeback, along with the mini skirt .

And according to Truscardi, if it's plastic it's in vogue.

The new fashion prediction is also being backed up by an unusual exhibition in Milan, where students from the top fashion schools across the world used plastic to create stylish clothes.

Milan, one of the Fashion capitals of the world is a city accustomed to exciting and sometimes shocking the fashion world with new ideas.

This time the latest craze appears to be articles made in plastic.

Sporting a very seventies-look models displayed the latest Truscardi creations.

Colours are mainly in shades of grey.

The audience gave a rousing response to the show, while Truscardi himself, seemed genuinely pleased.

Also on display was a collection of items designed by students from the top fashion schools.

With plastic being touted as the material of the future, most of the items on display are created in plastic.

Plastic is the clothing of the nineties let's say.. and it's enough to look at the collection in Paris and Milan and New York to see that a lot of the things are made in plastic.. for two reasons. First of all plastic is not expensive like leather.. Secondly, because they've found some good ways to treat plastic in a way that it doesn't, I would say give a lot of pollution.
