Ryan 'RVP' Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Project) 'Higher' - Download Festival, UK - 17/06/2017

Hey guys,

Here's a new drum cam recorded with my Zoom Q8 from the DTP's recent Summer Festival Tour that took place in mid-June 2017. I wanted to do a drum cam specifically from our show at Download Festival in Donnington, England because it was a special show for me. I dedicated my portion of this big show to a friend of mine, Jeff Worobec, who passed away from Cancer in late 2016. Jeff was an amazing person and a great drummer who never got to complete his dream of playing the big stages around the world, so, I took some of Jeff's ashes and a picture of him with me on stage, beside me on my drum riser, at Download Festival in England, and played the entire show with Jeff in mind. The song I'm playing in this Drum Cam is 'Higher' off of the DTP album 'Transcendence'. I chose this song in particular because of the amazing crowd support in the middle of the song. We have a big crowd participation part in 'Higher', that the crowd absolutely nailed at this show. It was a special gig for many reasons. Grateful to be able to do what I do for living and grateful that I was able to do something special for a friend of mine who's not with us anymore. Jeff may be gone but he will never be forgotten.
