This is a pattern that I developed myself that I call the Simu-Drake nymph. this pattern is meant to very closely imitate a Heptagenia or Flavilinea mayfly nymph but can be used year round for trout on streams across the US.
Hook: straight shank nymph hook sizes 10-18
tail: pheasant tail fibers
abdomen: tan sow scud dubbing
ribbing: copper wire
top of abdomen: pheasnt tail fibers
wing case: turkey feather
thorax: tan sow scud dubbing
legs: butts of pheasnt tail fibers
