With the general election now less than a month away, residents of St James North say they are generally satisfied with their representation and have raised no objection to the early calling of elections on February 11. However, many are using the campaign period to press candidates on community-focused issues they would like addressed. Grethal Smith of Rock Dundo called for more social activities for the elderly, while Anderson Worrell said residents of The Whim, St Peter would benefit from a basketball court and a road tennis court near the pavilion. Marcia Jordan-Shepherd raised concerns about traffic safety, calling for speed humps along Douglin Road, and Angela Richards said she was pleased with the work already done in her community but wants potholes patched.
