Nature has the power to calm, heal, and inspire. Yet many people find it hard to access wild places.
Over recent months, we’ve been helped by ‘Wild with Wheels’ to open up the wonders of RSPB Dungeness to everyone. By creating routes which are safe for a mobility scooter, and providing a suitable scooter on site, one of England’s most spectacular nature reserves is now open for far more people to enjoy.
To mark the UN's International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we met with with Gini from Wild with Wheels, to talk about the changes at Dungeness, why they’re important, and the power of the outdoors.
The accessibility work was funded by the Species Survival Fund, and delivered in partnership with Wild with Wheels as part of the Species Coastal and Wetlands programme.
