W Engines ARE NOT Two V8 Engines combined. Despite what Automotive Journalists or Armchair Mechanics try to tell you, a Modern Four Bank W Engine is actually comprised of Two VR Engines. These Two VR's are then linked to a single crankshaft, so they still function like a single engine. If you combine two separate V engines then that would make them a TANDEM Engine. Not a W Engine.
