In this lesson, I have also explained what makes Taiwanese Mandarin so special in terms of our accent, the word choice compared to Mainland Chinese accent. Examples are provided with traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, pinyin and Bopomofo (zhuyin注音). If you're studying or have decided to start your adventure in Taiwan, these phrases are essential to understand the locals.

You'd also hear these phrases constantly in the TV dramas or movies. I also use them all the time with my friends. Again, Chinese textbooks are great, your Chinese teacher might be great too, but these are the phrases are unlikely to hear in a classroom setting. I encourage you to watch lots of Taiwanese dramas or movies to get the feels of the authenticity of Taiwanese mandarin.
