Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi are focused on closing the leaks in the tauira learning pipeline. In this presentation they discuss their focus on an ecological approach to learning and how everyone who works at the wānanga contributes to tauira success. They share how they use data and tauira voice to build understanding of the importance of putting tauira at the heart of their organisation.
People, culture and leadership is one of seven learner success capabilities that underpin a whole-of-organisation, learner-centred operating model. The capability is described as the commitment and collaboration of the tertiary education organisation’s (TEO’s) leadership to culturally conscious learner success for all, a clear vision for desired change, and a whole-of-organisation approach.
The Tertiary Education Commission partners with the tertiary education sector to showcase the different organisational approaches TEOs are taking to become more learner-centric. The goals of these Learner Success Community of Practice sessions are to connect TEOs with the purpose of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and individual, group and organisational development.
