It was right after the previous Battle for Gilneas. Same players, different teams.
Balanced composition for both teams, hence a really well fought Arathi Basin.

For me a basic rule in any base capturing bg (Arathi, Gilneas, Deepwind, Isle of Conquest) is always contest bases. Simply don't give free points to your opponent.
Arathi is a very dynamic bg, you don't win defending 3 static bases against 2; you should always scout for a 4th base to replace the one you're about to lose.
10-men rated bg team was something like that :
healers = { rdruid, hpriest }
melee frontline = { protwar, unholy dk }
damage dealer = { double frost mages, destro lock, elem sham }
brawler/assassin = { hunter (survival/bm), rogue (sub/combat) }
and it's the core composition you'd like in any normal bg because these are the best classes/specs for their roles. Of course all depends on the expertise of players, so other classes/specs can be great too (especially in normal bg where rules are a bit different). It's a benchmark to assess the balance of a matchup.
The strategy I liked for Arathi was something like :
hunter takes and watches over closest base (ie ST or FARM);
rogue goes scout/contest/delay MINE;
warrior + sham (sturdy team) go contest BS;
rest of the team minus 1 healer go LM as fast as possible;
1 healer stay a bit back on his way to LM so he can intervene BS fast if needed (your strategy must adapt and match strategy of the opponent).Team communication is vital !
If LM fight is won, mages feather mates to reinforce BS if needed.
If it doesn't go according to plan, adapt and be resilient (scout, ninja, regroup and teamfight on their weak points). Mobility and adaptation are the key on this big map !
My adaptation of this strategy to normal bg is simply send 3 people max to BS : 1 brawler + 1 rogue or dd + eventually 1 spare healer. If BS is captured fast (uncontested) the rogue/brawler should go contest FARM while the other mate (and healer) keep BS and ensure capture no matter how the fight for LM goes.
Always leave 1 or 2 to keep and ensure capture of freshly tagged base; also inform team of opponent movements (especially LM) and call for reinforcement.
Numbers : 8 sec to tag base; 1min* (*in-game announcement) to capture. It's really important to ensure capture even if base is lost right after because it's 0 points to the opponent for 1min08.
LM and BS have high strategic value :
LM because who keep it watch over the entire map (except MINE);
BS for its central position/graveyard so people can be sent fast where needed.
