The 1955 Ford Thunderbird wasn't just a car, it was a statement. Born out of the heat of a cross town rivalry and shaped by America's love for the automobile, it was Ford's answer to Chevrolet's Corvette, but with a twist. Sleek, fast, and comfortable, the Thunderbird became a fixture of Ford's stable for over 40 years. As our own Roger Mecca discovered, this was one bird that could really fly.
