Working closely with the UK Office for National Statistics, ESCoE researchers created the Management and Expectations Survey to analyse business management practices, current performance and future expectations.
This is the largest ever survey of management capabilities in Great Britain, providing critical insight on the relationship between how businesses are managed and their productivity.
This work is informing industrial strategy, public sector productivity measurement and Government support schemes. It is also helping the Bank of England and UK Government to better understand firms’ resilience to economic shocks to inform policymaking.
