ALIEN LIKE YOU VIDEO MONTAGE EDITED BY:

VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
The idea for the video first originated from watching the underrated and underappreciated Canadian time travel series, Being Erica. One of the characters, Kai (played by the singer and actual writer of this song – Sebastian Pigott), sings the song “Alien Like You” to Erica at the end of season two. It’s a wonderful, emotional moment where Erica comes to the realization that she has feelings for Kai – even if they are separated by time. We fell in love with the song and thought it would make for a wonderful transformative montage. Thankfully, the song was available to buy in complete form on Amazon! In the end, “Alien Like You” turned into rather a strange video with a few interconnected themes rather than just one. On a surface level, we attempt to show a deep romantic connection between various Movie and TV couples that develops in kindred spirit form. It’s this kindred spirit connection that brings these characters back to life, when previously they had felt alone or even dead inside - stagnant. Basically, each character feels different or lonely in some way which causes them to recognize this “sameness” in someone else.

We talk about the sub-themes of waiting and time. Also, how the time travel aspect of the video works and how we interpret "alien."
