Now beautifully preserved in the heart of Bristol Harbour, the SS Great Britain is one of the best historic attractions in the UK, drawing visitors from all over the world.

We’ll uncover the story of its Victorian glory days, decades of abandonment, and heroic return to Bristol in 1970.

I’ve been visiting since I was a child, and this time I brought my family, including a Sunday Roast in the dining saloon and a lovely chat with my dad about the ship’s rescue.

We also meet a very convincing Isambard Kingdom Brunel, explore a replica of his office, and take in the wider site’s ongoing restoration and innovation.
