How to install the Arctic Tern Skylight Step-By-Step

Installing an Artic Tern Skylight on our 2024 Mercedes Sprinter. Everything you need to know before your install. We have been dreaming of having this skylight in our van since our first week in our first van. This is going to provide us with so much natural light and ventilation in the back of the van to keep us more comfortable wherever we go. Plus we plan to occasionally be able to pop up to the top of the van through this for sunsets or sunrises.

This installation is very straight forward and easy to do, the instructions are not the best but once we watched a video and looked through the parts we were able to figure it out. When you order the skylight it will ask if you would like to include the sikaflex which we thought was very convenient. We also orded the roof adapter and clamp trim ring for the inside from DIYvan. This is a must, it gives the perfect flat surface to mount to and it makes it to where you dont need to measure really anything for your cutout, it also makes it to where on the inside you dont have to shorten any of the mounting screws to the correct length, you can just install straight from the box.

The only extra we added was putting lap sealant around the entire flange just to ensure we never have to worry about leaks. Unfortunately, we were unable to test it out and see how it works because we need to have power and a ceiling to mount the interior trim ring to. So stay tuned for a later video to see how it works and how the interior of the van turns out.
