Will there be a Super Bloom at Folsom Lake in 2024?

There are so many factors in determining a "Super Bloom." Typically, in the Sierra Foothills, flowers bloom between mid-March to mid-May. It's quite a small window. How much rainfall did we receive? Are we out of the drought?

In 2021, Beeks Bight at Folsom Lake captured the local headlines with it's truly incredible Super Bloom of the lupine flower. Droves of people came, and somewhat to the detriment of the land. In 2021, we were in a drought, so there was a lot of terrain available for the flowers to sprout.

It's much different in 2024, coming off back-to-back fantastic rain years, more-so in 2023. The water levels are higher, and overall, thats a good thing for everyone, maybe not so much for a Super Bloom.

For the Spring of 2024, the road is closed to the infamous Beeks Bight, BUT, that doesn't mean we can't witness flowers flourishing at Folsom Lake. A "super bloom," maybe not, but we do show you other spots at Folsom Lake to check out the flowers!
