Spooktober continues...

Truly terrifying. Parting from the themes of the rest of Wormwood IV, this map is straight out of a common nightmare.

Have you ever had a dream where you are trying to run from something chasing you, but your legs felt like they are made of stone or you were walking through quicksand and couldn't hardly move?

In this nightmare, what chases you cannot be killed, but you sure can.

Why No UV Max This Time?

In this map there are no kills and the one secret I chose not to go for in this run can be seen at the 1:10 mark, which is just a hanging chain texture... You trigger the secret after grabbing the skull key and riding a lift up to the platform and cross the line def by the chain. The secret exists only to make escape from the sewer area more difficult due to the unpredictable pathing/RNG of the Avoid monsters, which cannot be killed and can kill you with a single bite (that they don't even have to be that close to you to inflict massive damage). Due to Doom's physics, they can even bite you from below the chain platform where you cannot see them as you try to escape after getting the secret or they may be waiting for you in the sewer's exit area where you cannot pass.

This map is very uncomfortable to play for me for a few reasons and I got tired of doing the first bit over and over again and wanted to move on to other maps, so you'll have to forgive me here for not going for 100%.

This map is more about the experience than anything so I don't mind not "maxing" it like other maps. I feel like this demo still serves Spooktober well even without the secret. I know it freaked me out!!!
