As of now I have the coil putting out some pretty decent sparks. However it’s really inefficient because I’m running it of 120 vac so most of the energy being switched by the mosfet is being transformed into heat energy. This is definitely not ideal because for a fully functioning coil it is best to have as much energy as possible being released as ionization of air from the breakout point and not as heat on the mosfet. This heat on the mosfet also limits the run time of the coil. I am planning on interrupting this circuit at some point and a video will come out about that if when that happens.
