"Potato potato" - that's how you define a Harley Davidson motorcycle's sound. Similarly, in India, it is the unmistakable "dug dug" for Royal Enfield.
But then, BS-6 happened.
And it threw a spanner in the mix.
Gone is the lovely "thump" of the Royal Enfield single, replaced by a sound that is barely audible. How is a Royal Enfield a Royale Enfield without that lovely "dug dug"?
So, my friend Jaideep ( / lowratio4wd ) - a die-hard Royal Enfield fan - decided to do something about it. To get that "authentic" sound back, he decided to dump the catalytic converter from the exhaust - a simple mod - and replaced it with a stainless steel straight pipe that links the header to the Royal Enfield exhaust can.
The result: A sweet sounding motorcycle, how we believe it should have come from factory.
Of course this mod is not road legal, and we don't even intend to ride this bike this way - this is his demo motorcycle from one of his Royal Enfield dealerships - we just wanted to know what the bike would sound like.
