"The EGO BC3800E allows you to get the job done with one tool. The 38cm trimmer line helps you access hard-to-reach spots like near tree trunks, gardens, bushes, and fences, and the 30cm brush cutter helps you easily slice through thick plants. The machine can also be used with our rotocut for cutting hard surfaces like driveways and patios without any harm.
There’s no substitute for comfort, so also provided with this set is our AP1500D double-shoulder harness, which easily clips into the solid steel drive shaft. The harness has a hip pad attached, which helps to protect you when resting the tool on your side. The line trimmer head is supplied with 2.4mm line, which feeds into the rapid reload head to allow for quick line replacement. It’s also a bump feed head, so you can simply tap the head to feed new out new line during use. The brush cutter blade is high strength steel and is comprised of 3 blades with a 30cm total cutting width."

In honesty it was surprisingly challenging to set up. Changing to the blade from the strimmer was tricky. You are meant to just push the side but it is fiddly. The instructions are quite poor – you need to put the Alan key in the side to stop the rotation mechanism then use the tool provided to undo it.
In addition, the handles need to be turned around and reattached.

After using this within a few minutes (as demonstrated) the protective guard came apart – this was readily rectified with the Alan key. It is a powerful bit of kit but makes your hands hurt and no doubt would give Raynaud's if you used it often. Please be careful and wear protective gear.

Despite that it will help cut back stuff that a trimmer wouldn’t. The main advantage is that it starts easily with an Ego battery (not included). Comes with an extended warranty.
