Ingredients
DOUGH
4 cups flour
1 tablespoon yeast
2 egg yolks + 1 whole egg
1½ cups warm milk
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup oil
1 tablespoon salt
FILLING
1 cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cube melted butter
GLAZE
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
½ cube melted butter
Instructions
Step 1. Place flour in a bowl. Make a well in the middle and add the yeast and warm water. Mix the yeast with some of the surrounding flour and let it activate for about 10 minutes, until bubbly.
Step 2. Add eggs, sugar, oil, and salt.
Step 3. Mix all ingredients, gradually adding warm milk to form a dough. Knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is soft and pliable. Add melted butter and knead for 5 more minutes.
Step 4. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Step 5. Prepare the filling by mixing both sugars and cinnamon; set aside.
Step 6. Roll out dough on a floured surface. Spread melted butter evenly over it, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Step 7. Roll the dough tightly to form a long log.
Step 8. Slice into ½-inch pieces and place on a greased cookie sheet or cake pan.
Step 9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 40 minutes, until lightly golden brown.
Step 10. Make the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and melted butter. Spread over warm cinnamon rolls. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Cook’s Note
For extra flavor, add a touch of vanilla extract or a pinch of nutmeg to the filling. You can also let the dough rise overnight in the refrigerator for an even fluffier texture.
