The defection of Robert Jenrick is the most significant moment in the politics of the Right since the election in 2024, and Jenrick's speech denouncing the Conservative Party has laid down a marker about what the Right should stand for going into the next election in three years time. I was (almost) struck dumb by the news and the way in which it unfolded, but happily I had my old confidant from the Popular Conservatism movement, Mark Littlewood, on hand to dissect exactly what this will mean.
