How to Clean and Cut Your Multi-Layered Stencil | Cant Stop Art

Award winning painter, Fordee, explains how to clean and cut your multi-layered stencil. In the previous video I showed you how to create the multi-layered stencil from a photograph, the next step is for us to clean up the stencil before cutting it. By using Photoshop we identify areas that need to be removed, enlarged or fixed before sending it to our printer or stencil cutter. I use a stencil cutter (The Brother Scanncut CM900), however you can print to regular card stock and cut it out by hand using an x-acto knife.

In the next tutorial we will take the cut stencils and paint them with acrylic paint using a monochromatic paint scheme.

The goal of this video and others in the step-by-step series it to teach techniques to new painters and give some seasoned painters some new tricks for their arsenal.
