In this video, we talk about something we encounter from time to time, that is Legal Directors, or country Legal Heads, being appointed at a relatively young age
An initial reaction is “Great. Younger professionals are being entrusted with positions of responsibility. We are making progress”
However, a note of caution. The choice of a junior lawyer may be influenced by cost. Why pay for a more senior resource? The risk is these bright young lawyers finding themselves sometimes out of their depth, and ultimately getting burned
Our suggestion is “Do not be afraid to ask for help”. Either internally, or reach out to a trusted law firm partner who may well have seen similar situations before. The company pays, but Hey, they saved on your salary. So don’t be embarrassed!
