The month of December in Dohnavur is filled with many occasions of happiness. The Advent, Love feast for the leprosy patients, Amy Carmichael’s Birthday celebrations, Children’s Christmas events and so on.
Not only the people, even the Natural world is vibrating with extra vigor and joy. After the bounty of NE Monsoon the lakes are full, air is filled with the sweet calls of Migrant birds, Children collecting Red velvet mites and Golden beetles........
The season is heralded by Pealing the Joy Bells from the Tower, followed by this song in the organ on December 1st early morning. This Tamil poem was penned in December 1942 by Devabakthi Ann ( Mimosa’s cousin ) a prolific Tamil poet, who has contributed many Tamil songs to Ananda Geetham. Set to tune by David Aruldason Ann and harmonized by AV. Turantaran Ann.
