Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary has put forward a surreal conspiracy theory. He believes that the newly introduced Bronco test in men’s cricket, which will replace the Yo-Yo test as the fitness measure for players, is meant to end ODI captain Rohit Sharma’s hopes of making it to the 2027 World Cup. Rohit has retired from Tests and T20Is and will be 40 by the time of the World Cup in southern Africa. He has always drawn taunts about his ‘natural’ fitness, though it has rarely affected his skillful game on the field. The Bronoco test involves shuttle runs of 20, 40, and 60 meters, with no breaks in between. It’s considered more challenging than the Yo-Yo test, which was introduced in Virat Kohli’s era and proved quite difficult initially too.

भारतीय टीम प्रबंधन ने हाल ही में फिटनेस मापने के लिए एक नया टेस्ट शुरू किया है, जिसे ब्रोंको टेस्ट (Bronco Test) कहा जाता है। हेड कोच गौतम गंभीर की देखरेख में लागू किया गया यह टेस्ट आमतौर पर रग्बी और फुटबॉल जैसे खेलों में प्रयोग होता है।इस टेस्ट में खिलाड़ी को लगातार बिना रुके 20 मीटर, 40 मीटर और 60 मीटर की पाँच सेट दौड़ लगानी होती है। कुल दूरी 1,200 मीटर होती है और इसमें लगने वाला समय ही खिलाड़ी की फिटनेस का स्तर दर्शाता है। जितना कम समय, उतनी बेहतर फिटनेस।पूर्व भारतीय क्रिकेटर मनोज तिवारी ने इस टेस्ट को लेकर बड़ा बयान दिया है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि यह टेस्ट खासतौर पर रोहित शर्मा जैसे खिलाड़ियों को टीम से बाहर करने के लिए लाया गया है।क्रिकट्रैकर से बातचीत में तिवारी ने कहा कि "मुझे लगता है कि विराट कोहली को 2027 वर्ल्ड कप की योजनाओं से बाहर करना मुश्किल होगा। लेकिन रोहित शर्मा के मामले में मुझे शक है। मैं भारतीय क्रिकेट में हो रही गतिविधियों को करीब से देखता हूं और मेरा मानना है कि यह ब्रोंको टेस्ट ऐसे खिलाड़ियों के लिए लाया गया है जिन्हें भविष्य की योजनाओं में नहीं रखना है।"
