I received some requests to just post the isolated bass, so here it is, but I also wanted to do something fun as well. I recorded the bassline with my Rick as well as a means of comparison between the two and how one might sound over the other on this track. I've seen a number of covers of this, some with the Rick, some with the Jazz. The consensus for me based upon my individual experimentation is that this was Paul's Jazz. Full stop
The more I explore White Album sounds, the more I'm convinced this was a Fender Jazz focused record, as if we didn't know that already based upon mountains of research... but now I'm hearing it for myself by experimentation. Seeing as he got his Jazz around July of '68, and the bulk of tracks were recorded from July - October of '68, it's more than likely.
