টাঙ্গাইল জেলার নাগরপুর উপজেলার পাকুটিয়া ইউনিয়নে
আছে এক প্রাণভরা গ্রামীণ হাট—পাকুটিয়া বাজার।
শুধু কেনাবেচা নয়
এ বাজারের বুকে লুকিয়ে আছে শত বছরের ঐতিহ্য, স্মৃতি আর গৌরবের গল্প।
এই বাজারের গর্ব পাকুটিয়া জমিদার বাড়ি।
ইংরেজ আমলের শেষ দিকে… পাকিস্তান আমলের শুরুতে গড়ে ওঠা এই প্রাচীন স্থাপনাটি— যুগের পর যুগ, শতাব্দীর পর শতাব্দী ধরে 
দাঁড়িয়ে আছে ১৫ একর জমির ওপর… 
চারটি বিশাল ভবন, একটি নাটমন্দির, একটি দীঘি, আর একটি পুরনো কূপ নিয়ে।
প্রতিটি ইট… প্রতিটি দেয়াল… যেন বলছে “আমি সময়ের সাক্ষী”।
জমিদার বজেন্দ্র নারায়ণ চৌধুরী…
আর তৎকালীন অন্যান্য জমিদাররা শুধু শাসক ছিলেন না—
তারা ছিলেন  এই জনপদের স্বপ্নদ্রষ্টা।
বাজারের প্রসার… মানুষের জীবিকা… জনবসতির বিকাশ—
সবকিছুতেই ছিল তাদের অবদান।
ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে এই জমিদার বাড়ি ছিল কলকাতার সাথে মেইল স্টিমার ও বাণিজ্যের এক প্রাণকেন্দ্র।
তারপর আসে… শুক্রবার সকাল
সূর্য উঠতেই হাট (জোর) জেগে ওঠে—
শাকসবজি, দেশীয় ফলমূল, হাঁস-মুরগি, দুধ-ডিম,নদীর টাটকা মাছ, চাল,ডাল, হলুদ, মরিচ, গরমসলা, লুঙ্গি গামছা সহ মুখরোচক খাবারের বাহার—অত্র অঞ্চলের মানুষের প্রধান বিপনন কেন্দ্র এই পাকুটিয়া বাজার। 
সবকিছুর রঙ আর গন্ধে ভরে যায় চারপাশ।
কেউ আসে বিক্রি করতে
কেউ কিনতে…
আবার কেউ আসে শুধু গ্রামীণ হাটের সেই প্রাণময় সৌন্দর্য,
মাটির গন্ধ… আর মানুষের সরলতা উপভোগ করতে।
হাটের ভেতরে ঢুকলেই শোনা যায় কর্মকার ভাইয়ের টুংটাং শব্দ,
হাতুড়ি আর লোহার আলাপে গড়ে ওঠে ছুরি, কোদাল, দা।
এক কোণে  ছাতার কারিগর মন দিয়ে ভাঙা ছাতা ঠিক করছেন,
ছাতার প্রতিটি কাঁটা আর কাপড়ে যেন তার যত্নের ছোঁয়া।
আর এই হাটের… সবচেয়ে সুন্দর, সবচেয়ে প্রাণবন্ত দৃশ্য—
হলো নারী ক্রেতাদের উপস্থিতি।
হাসিখুশি মুখ… রঙিন শাড়ি… মাথায় সিঁদুর- শাখা কিংবা ওড়নার আড়াল—
তাদের ব্যস্ততা, দরদাম আর হাসির শব্দে হাট যেন আরও প্রাণবন্ত আরও জীবন্ত হয়ে ওঠে।
এ দৃশ্য শুধু চোখে নয় মনে গেঁথে যায়।

এই হাটের আরও একটি বিশেষ আকর্ষণ হলো—ঘোড়ার গাড়ি।
প্রচলিত এই যান যেন অতীতের গল্প বয়ে আনে…
পণ্য বোঝাই বা যাত্রী নিয়ে ধীরে ধীরে এগিয়ে যায় মাটির পথে,
টংটং শব্দে ভরে ওঠে চারপাশের বাতাস।
শহরের কোলাহল থেকে দূরে, এমন দৃশ্য যেন এক টুকরো গ্রামীণ রূপকথা।
দিন যত গড়ায়… 
এ হাট রূপ নেয় একদিনের উৎসবে—
যেখানে মিশে যায়  মানুষ… মাটি… আর প্রকৃতি। 
পাকুটিয়া ইউনিয় সহ প্রায় ১৫-২০টি গ্রামের মানুষ এই হাটে ভিড় জমায়—
পুখুরিয়া, রৌহাডাঙ্গা, হারাইপাড়া, বাস্তখোলা, ঘাগড়া, বাগজান, পাইকপাড়া, আউটপাড়া, পৌলসরা, আগতারাইল, পাছতারাইল, রাওতারা, কান্দাপাড়া, সাক্ষীপাড়া, মাঝুটিয়া, মানরা, মেওয়াইল—
এছাড়াও আসে পার্শ্ববর্তী বহু গ্রামের মানুষ।
পাকুটিয়া বাজার…
শুধু একটি হাট নয়—
এটি গ্রামীণ জীবনের স্পন্দন…
মানুষের মিলনমেলা…
এই জনপদের অর্থনীতির প্রাণকেন্দ্র।

there is a lively rural market—Pakutia Bazar.
Not only shopping
This market is hidden in the chest of a hundred years of tradition, memories and stories of glory.
The pride of this market is the Pakutia Zamindar Bari.
This ancient establishment, built towards the end of the British era… at the beginning of the Pakistan era—for ages after ages, centuries after centuries
stands on 15 acres of land…
with four huge buildings, a theater, a pond, and an old well.

Every brick…every wall…as if saying “I am a witness of time”.
Zamindar Bajendra Narayan Chowdhury…
and the other zamindars of that time were not just rulers—
they were the dreamers of this town.

The expansion of the market…the livelihood of the people…the development of the settlement—
they had their contribution in everything.

During the British rule, this landlord's house was a hub for mail steamers and trade with Kolkata.
Then comes… Friday morning
As the sun rises, the market (harbour) wakes up—
Vegetables, local fruits, poultry, milk and eggs, fresh river fish, rice, lentils, turmeric, chilli, garamsala, lungi gamcha and other delicious food items—this Pakutia market is the main marketing center for the people of this region.
The surroundings are filled with the colors and smells of everything.
Some come to sell
Some to buy…
And some come just to enjoy the vibrant beauty of the rural market,
The smell of the soil…and the simplicity of the people.
As soon as you enter the market, you can hear the clanking sound of the workers,
The clash of hammers and irons turns into knives, spades, and axes.
In one corner, an umbrella craftsman is carefully repairing a broken umbrella,
each thorn and cloth of the umbrella has a touch of his care.
And the most beautiful, most vibrant scene of this market is the presence of female buyers.
