When Jesus came to Caesarea Philippi,
He asked His disciples a deep mystery:
“Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
They said, “Some say John the Baptist, a godly man,
Others the prophet Elijah, who called down fire,
And some say You’re the promised Messiah.”

For to us a child is born, God's Son was given,
The government rests on His shoulders in Heaven.
He will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Jesus our Lord.

Then Jesus asked them all, “Who do you say I am?”
Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!”
Jesus said, “Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah,
For this truth comes not from man, but has been revealed from above.”
