what oxford is REALLY like as a state school student | the downsides of oxford university

hello hello, i’m back with the ox content again and today i’m sharing some of the...not so nice and weird things about oxford university that i experienced as a state school educated/free school meals/low income/first gen student. from culture shock and weird traditions to ignorance and blinkeredness, i’ve covered it all. PSA: these are all MY experiences from UNDERGRAD STUDY - you may well not share the same fate. however, this all happened recently so it needed to be said. DON’T GET IT TWISTED THOUGH, despite all the less than wonderful things i never would’ve gone anywhere else for uni and i implore any of my fellow state educated/low income/first gen kids watching to APPLY APPLY APPLY!!! it taught me so much about the world and solidified my beliefs. and, after all, we are the only ones who can change the culture.
reminder that this video ONLY focuses on the weird/negative stuff - it is not a comprehensive review (we'd be here for days). i could of course make a video about all the wonderful things i love about oxford, but it probably wouldn’t get me as many views xx
