Pennsylvanians played a major role in the coming of the American Revolution. For nearly 75 years, the colony of Pennsylvania had sustained a relatively peaceful era thanks to its Quaker principles of pacifism. However, the French and Indian War—an international contest for control of the American continent—shattered those old ambitions. As we know from our history books, one armed conflict soon led to another.
Past PA illuminates the history of Pennsylvania. This digital series will bring a deeper understanding of important events that people have likely heard of but might not know very much about, and help people learn new stories about well-known events.
