On December 22, 2011, I FIALLY got the opprotunity to railfan again in Kent, WA (south of Seattle). As a "fanfare" for the new season, a BNSF coal train came through northbound in full fury. It's crazy how fast trains head through Kent, especially when Kent is a sizable city. On the end of the train were two BNSF DPU's. After that train passed, I moved to the other side of the tracks and continued from there. Next, out of the fog, appeared a northbound BNSF manifest (or mixed freight) train. There were an astonishing five locomotives at the front of the train (BNSF 4541, 4978, 4556, 5327, and 4637). Finally, a BNSF coal train came swifltly past northbound. I was standing just feet from the track, and got wind blasted as it soared pass. The train was headed by CP (Canadian Pacific Railroad) #8763, and BNSF #6789. On the tail end of the train, BNSF #5470, and CP #8847 acted as DPU's (distributed power units) to push the train. It was curious to see a CP engine pull the train.
